Sand Castle News - Volume 2, Issue 3 - March 10, 2006

Greetings from Beach Dreams Cottages!

We once again have a lot to talk about and want to update our readers with information on our progress to date. We have been very fortunate that we have had a somewhat mild winter and we can make the progress we have been making. We feeling that warm sun on our faces as we see each unit go up and be completed for some lucky owner.

In this issue we have some new pictures of the Sea Castle (to the right) and Sand Dollar R cottages. I get excited looking at these lovely units and am envious of those who will enjoy summer living in these stylish dwellings.

Progress Report

We are excited to report that 9 lucky owners have closed on their units with 6 more right on their heels. We currently have 40 of our 82 units on site in some stage of development.  And we have sold an additional 8 units in the past month!

Our new Sales Center is now open and we are looking forward to seeing you all again soon. Come up to visit and take a look at our offerings enjoy a cup of coffee with us! Remember, you can reach Gail and our Sales Center at 207.646.6500.

It’s Time to Party!

Yes, it’s that time of year again where we are ready to party on the premises. We are hosting our first catered open house of the season on March 25th and 26th under our tent at the new Sales Center! Mark your calendar.

Volunteers Needed!

As we continue to grow, we will need to form Advisory Boards to ensure that your experience at Beach Dreams is the best that it can be. We would like to start with Advisory Committees comprised of 6 owners and the developer or a developer’s designee. Ideally, we would like someone from each village involved in advising us on the development of many areas of the project. For 2006, we are forming the following committees:

  • Social Committee - Sunshine and summer fun! I’m sure there are readers who just love planning social events. This group would develop a social calendar and events for this season. We are going to start the season off with a catered barbeque at pool side on Memorial Day weekend!  What else can we plan? Be creative and let’s have fun!
  • Gardening committee – Although we are providing the landscaping, we want to ensure our property is the “bee’s knees”! Those who love to garden, or even if you just like to look at the wonderful summer vegetation, come join us. Green thumbs apply!
  • Architectural review committee - Just as it sounds, we need a group that will review requests for additions and or changes to cottages on site and make recommendations. This group will help develop the request process and guidelines, and identify the costs involved in gaining support from the community for alterations to the buildings. We currently have several requests pending and this is a top priority. If you have prior experience, we could use the help!
  • Rental and Owners committee - With the implementation of the gate in May, the way you enter and exit Beach Dreams will change. Visitors and renters need to be guided onto the property initially and need to be made aware of the rules for the property, including use of the amenities, hours of operation and how things will be managed. We would like this board to consist of three owners that are going to be mostly renting their cottage and three owners that are not going to rent at all.

Our goal is to get owners involved in areas that are crucial for this coming season and beyond. From these groups, we hope to evolve an advisory board to the developer until the property is prepared to be turned over formally to a Board of Directors. If you are interested in joining one of these advisory committees, please forward a brief resume with your interests to: m.gallagher@beach-dreams.com.

Until our next issue:
